John Mirabito graduated from Sidney Central School in 1972 and from the University of Notre Dame in 1976 as a finance major with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He earned his master's degree in business administration from Syracuse University in 1986. As business manager for the Sidney Central School District, 1976-'80, John was responsible for all non-instructural and financial activities for the district.

From 1981-'86, John worked as an insurance broker at Mang Associates, Inc. John earned the designation of chartered property casualty underwriter in 1989, working as a partner for Mang Group, Inc. from 1986-'98. After numerous purchases and mergers over the years, the agency grew to 19 locations, including one in Raleigh, North Carolina.

John became involved in the family business and, from 1998-'05, held various management and executive positions with Mirabito Holdings, Inc. Mirabito Holdings is a diversified company and includes the business brands Mirabito Energy Products, Mirabito Stores, Mirabito Truck Repair, Mirabito Power and Gas and Mirabito Regulated Industries. The company employs more than 1,100 people and does business in seven states. From 2005 until '19, John served as chairman of the board with Mirabito Holdings, Inc. and Subsidiaries and Affiliates.

John has a record of extensive service as a trusted and dedicated community leader, happily sharing his knowledge, experience and time to benefit others. John has held leadership roles, including president, director and chairman in Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Sidney, United Way of Sidney, Southern Tier American Red Cross, Otschodela Council - Boy Scouts of America, Friends of Bassett Hospital, Community Foundation of South Central New York, Catholic Education Foundation of the Southern Tier, Tri- Town Regional Hospital, Binghamton Bearcats Athletic Association, Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse Finance Committee and the Leatherstocking Gas Company.

John serves as chair of the Risk Management Committee of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse Finance Committee, Board of Directors - Catholic Schools of Broome County, Advisory Board - Binghamton University Watson College of Engineering & Applied Science and Lourdes Hospital Foundation.
