 Volume IX Issue I Spring - 2006
The Editor's Corner......
Karen 'Cycon' Dermody '63

Welcome to the spring,. 2006 issue of Reflections! This issue is the result of the contributions of so many of you and I think it is one of our best offerings to date.

There are articles about the Sports Hall of Fame Induction, held last November as well as the -Wall of Fame Induction ceremony to be held, July 16. The SHOF dinner in November continues to be a memorable event and the pictures we include give you a glimpse of the great time everyone had.

Speaking of pictures, thanks to everyone who shared their personal photos of family members and classmates. I hope that when you see them they'll prompt you to think about sending your own news and photos. I particularly want to thank those who shared their photos and news of families in the Military.

The articles about Sidney sports and football history will make you proud of both the current champs and those who came before. Members of some of the teams who made that history are celebrating significant anniversaries during alumni weekend and so it's very special indeed.

According to Charles "Doc" Brooks-this is his last article for this publication. I'm sorry to hear that and still hope that he can be convinced to continue to share his Sidney memories with us.

Pat McElligott,'76 has written about his class' history with Rubin "Hurricane" Carter and I found it fascinating. I'm sure this will be news to a lot of readers. It's a great story.

We have some areas devoted to "shameless commerce" to borrow a phrase from the "Car Talk" guys. On these pagesyou'll find out that you can purchase an ad on the weekend placemat for your class and a Warrior Head patch among other things.

The membership application is on the other side of All Class Reunion Luncheon Registration Form and we hope you take a minute to fill out both forms. Membership is key to the Association and your news is important to the newsletter. You'll also be attending a very special event if you make plans to attend the Luncheon.

In addition to alumni news, we have the most up-to-date plans of the classes scheduling events during the upcoming Alumni Reunion Weekend and we even include some plans for next year. Remember to keep checking the - alumni website (www.sidneyalumni.org) for further updates as we get closer to July.

Thanks to everyone who sent in "old pictures". It's such fun to see ourselves the way we were. Enjoy this issue and have a wonderful Alumni Weekend. See you in July.
