Angela Johnson is currently the Director of Football Academics and Associate Director of Student Services for Athletes at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. She has been working in higher education and college athletics for almost 15 years, with stops at NC State, Ole Miss, and the University of Texas-Austin, before settling at UD. Angela has impacted thousands of students and is passionate about the power of education and sport for social change and lifelong success. Angela earned her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) in Business Management and went on to earn her Master's Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at the University of South Carolina. She started her college career on a full scholarship for basketball at Le Moyne College in Syracuse. Angela played basketball and tennis while at Le Moyne, before transferring to Virginia Tech where she was able to get involved on campus as an Orientation Leader, Admissions Ambassador, Sports Marketing Intern, and an executive member of the post-April 16 Community Initiative Group. She was also able to study abroad in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland, and Northern Italy, and these experiences laid the foundation for her future career.

At Sidney, Angela was a two-time, Section 4 Class C-D Doubles Champion (with Kristen Aiken) and three-time C-D Singles Champion in tennis. She went unbeaten in league matches from her sophomore through senior years. In basketball, Angela was a three-time league All-Star and the first (and still only) female to score 1,000 points by her junior season. She led Sidney to the 2002 NYS finals during a record 26-1 campaign. She earned All-Metro honors twice, and first-team All-State (2002) and second-team All-State (2003) all NYS honors. Angela received WCDO's Female Athlete of the Year and the Gatorade Will to Win Awards.

Angela currently resides in Hockessin, Delaware with her husband, Andre, and their two children, Natalia (age 4) and Nico (almost 1). Together they love spending time on campus and cheering on the Blue Hens (Andre's alma mater!), watching Natalia participate in her activities (Nico too, soon!), traveling and visiting family and friends, and enjoying their new home.
