HUSBAND: Steve Ferenzi CHILDREN: Annalise, Mariella, and Anthony

Liz Eaton was a prototypical Sidney student-athlete in that she excelled in multiple sports. As a youth, she played volleyball and bowling in addition to her varsity sports of soccer, basketball and softball. Those would not be her only competitive sports!

In her 3 years of soccer, Liz anchored the defense as halfback or sweeper. Sidney was ranked as high as #3 in NYS Class C entering the 1997 post season finishing 15-5; Liz earned 2nd team All-Sus that fall as a soph. Her senior season ended at 13-5-2 losing in the Class C semifinals,

She played varsity basketball 3 years as well. During her junior & senior seasons, Sidney's best scorer/rebounder (13 double-doubles!) was a Daily Star, Sus, and WCDO All- Star. One huge honor was being named All-Metro in 2000.

Softball's three seasons saw Liz excel both in the circle and at the plate. She threw 8 nohit games, including 2 perfect games. Half of those came as a senior when she was named Section 4 Class C and Daily Star Player of the Year 8 of her 12 victories were by shutout. Liz struck out 200 batters, posted a 1.31 ERA and batted .311.

Liz was selected for both the Morrison Outstanding Athlete and Redmond Scholar- Athlete Awards at the Sidney Sports Banquet.

Then it was on to Marquette University before a transfer to Lehigh. She played one year as a basketball walk-on, and competed on the golf team for three years. Liz also joined the ROTC program where she met her husband Steve who became a Green Beret.

Liz's military career is equally as impressive. Upon graduating from Lehigh in 2004, she pursued officer training in Army Aviation. Eventually she became "jump qualified" as part of the prestigious 82nd Airborne Division. A 13-month deployment to Afghanistan soon followed.

Along the way, Liz and Steve have created a family of five. All three kids have favorite activities that include sports. The girls, Annalise and Mariella, play softball and enjoy taking dance while son Tony is a potential baseball star.

Liz has always maintained a grateful heart for her parents as well as for the many Sidney teachers and coaches who instilled a culture filled with their positive influences. We, in turn, thank Liz and her sisters (Kate & Shane) as well as Steve and other family members for their service to our country.

Let's end on a final sports note. At her current duty station in Tampa, Florida, Liz has founder way to play some beach volleyball. Yet another sport for the ultra-competitive inductee into the Sidney Alumni Sports Hall of Fame, Liz Eaton-Ferenzi.
