Five Outstanding SHS Alumni
To Be Inducted Into Wall of Fame

SIDNEY - Five outstanding alumni will be inducted into the Sidney Central School Wall of Fame at the annual Sidney Central School Alumni Assn. All Class luncheon this Sunday, July 20 at the Sidney Fire Hall on River St. The event begins with a mingle/reception at 11 a.m. and lunch served at 11:45 a.m.

The inductees include Dr. Bert Fairbanks, '00; Dr. Theodore "Ted" Elliott, '31; Tiffany Whitaker Seda, '96; Douglas Sheldon, '59; and Ronald Yager, former Sidney Central Middle and High School teacher

A sad note is that Dr. Ted Elliott, who celebrated his 100th birthday Nov. 5, 2013 and was looking forward to his induction into the Wall of Fame, passed away July 9 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford.

"The Sidney Central School Alumni Assn. is saddened by his death," said Dennis Porter, SCSAA vice president for operations and chair of the Wall of Fame committee. "Ted's leadership for the March of Classes, a valued tradition each year, will be greatly missed. He was a staunch supporter of his Sidney alma mater and a true gentleman."

Ted's daughter, Nancy Tueller, will accept the honor on behalf of her father.
